LIAM BRAZIER

We’re very excited to welcome artist and illustrator Liam Brazier to SO•CO from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th November.

Known for his bold geometric style and striking use of colour, Liam has worked across illustration and animation for more than two decades, with projects including Disney’s Art of Marvel, Radio Times, Queens of the Stone Age and John Carpenter.

His work takes familiar people, characters and objects and breaks them down into layers of shape and colour, creating a style that is instantly recognisable.

For one weekend, Liam will be taking over SO•CO with a selection of his work.

Friday 13th to Sunday 15th November
SO•CO, Pottergate, Norwich

More details coming soon.

JEM - PAINT YOUR MATE

A portrait workshop with a difference.

Join local portrait artist Jem at SO•CO for a playful, relaxed session all about capturing the person in front of you.

Bring a mate, partner, sibling or whoever you fancy painting and have a go at creating their portrait with Jem guiding you through shape, colour, features and expression.

This is not about getting it perfect. It’s about noticing the little things that make someone look like themselves and having fun with the process.

Do them proud, do them dirty, or create something so wildly inaccurate it becomes art in its own right.

No one to bring? No problem. Self portraits are very much encouraged, and solo guests are completely welcome.

Your ticket includes all painting materials, your canvas to take home, guidance from Jem throughout the session and a glass of Prosecco, Nosecco or a soft drink.

Saturday 21st November

12pm to 2pm AND 3pm to 5pm

Come for the painting, stay for the questionable likenesses.

JEM - PETICULAR PORTRATURE

We’re very excited to welcome artist and illustrator Liam Brazier to SO•CO from Peticular Portraiture with Jem

A portrait starts long before paint meets paper.

For this special SO•CO sitting, local portrait artist Jem invites you to bring your pet into the studio for a relaxed, personal meeting designed to capture more than just how they look.

Jem will spend time with both you and your pet, getting a feel for their character, habits, expressions and all the little quirks that make them unmistakably themselves.

Having already painted some of the city’s most recognisable hounds, Jem has a real talent for capturing personality, presence and those tiny details that make each animal completely individual.

She’ll take a selection of reference photographs during the sitting and use these, alongside what she learns about their personality, as the starting point for a bespoke commissioned portrait.

This is not simply about recreating a photograph. It’s about capturing presence, character and the relationship you share with them.

Soft, serious, mischievous, regal, chaotic or completely ridiculous, every pet has their own story, and Jem’s portraits are created to hold onto a little piece of it.

Following your sitting, you’ll have the opportunity to commission a one of a kind portrait directly from Jem.

A small moment in the studio, turned into something you can keep forever.
